Weather-Resistant and Climate-Controlled Containers
Different belongings have different storage needs. STOMO offers two portable container options so you can choose the type that fits what you plan to store.
Weather-resistant containers help protect furniture, boxes, and household belongings from typical outdoor weather, including rain and wind. They are a practical choice for many moving, renovation, and home storage projects. However, they do not control temperature or protect belongings from flooding.
Climate-controlled containers have a mounted HVAC unit to help maintain a more consistent temperature inside. This option may be a better fit for belongings that can be affected by temperature changes, such as wooden furniture, electronics, photographs, documents, and fabric furnishings.
If a container cannot be placed at your home because of driveway limitations or community rules, ask about STOMO’s temporary storage facility. Your loaded container can be stored at the facility instead of keeping it at your property.

How Local Households Use Portable Storage
A portable storage unit can help free up space at home without requiring you to move everything to a storage facility across town. Here are some common situations where one can help.
Home renovations and repairs
Keep furniture, rugs, boxes, and other household items out of rooms where contractors are working. This gives you more space to clear floors, move materials, and complete repairs without stacking belongings in nearby rooms.
Decluttering before a home sale
Removing extra furniture and personal items can free up rooms and make it easier to prepare a home for photographs, showings, or staging. Keep the items you want to retain in a container while you work through the selling process.
Garage and household cleanouts
If your garage has become crowded with boxes, seasonal decorations, tools, or furniture, a container can provide temporary space while you sort through everything. You can organize your belongings without having to move them back and forth between locations.
Storm repairs and water-damage work
When repairs require furniture and household items to be moved out of affected rooms, a portable container can provide nearby storage. Choose the container type based on the items being stored, and never place belongings in an area at risk of flooding.
On-Site Storage Compared With a Traditional Storage Unit
Before choosing, consider how often you need access to your belongings, where the container can be placed, and whether your items need temperature control.
Traditional Storage Unit
A traditional storage unit may work better when you do not have room for a container at home or when your community does not allow one.
Portable Storage at Home
With portable storage, the container is delivered to your property instead of requiring you to transport your belongings to a storage facility. STOMO also offers temporary facility storage for loaded containers when keeping the container in your driveway is not practical.
